Course Overview: The HeartCode Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Skills Test Session is an essential component of the PALS certification process, focusing exclusively on evaluating your practical skills. This session is designed to complement the HeartCode PALS online course provided by the AHA, which must be purchased and completed separately prior to attending this skills assessment.
Please Note: Registration for this session includes only the in-person skills test. Participants must complete the HeartCode PALS online course through the AHA before attending this session. This prerequisite ensures that all participants come prepared with the foundational knowledge necessary for effective skill demonstration.
Course Objectives: Upon completion of the skills test session, participants will:
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively assess and manage seriously ill or injured children using a systematic approach, applying PALS algorithms appropriately.
- Exhibit proficiency in recognizing and intervening in pediatric respiratory, shock, and cardiac emergencies.
- Show effective team dynamics and communication skills in simulated pediatric resuscitation scenarios.
