Course Content

  • Module 1: Introduction to Basic Life Support - Understanding BLS and the importance of high-quality CPR, including a systematic approach to the BLS survey.
  • Module 2: Recognizing Life-Threatening Emergencies - Identifying the need for CPR, managing airway blockages, and learning to respond to different scenarios for adults, children, and infants.
  • Module 3: High-Quality CPR - Techniques for performing solo or team CPR, depth and rate of compressions, ventilation skills using barrier devices, and effective switchovers in team settings.
  • Module 4: Use of AED - Safe and effective use of automated external defibrillators across different ages.
  • Module 5: Special Considerations - Handling special cases such as advanced airway management, opioid overdoses, and moving injured persons only when necessary.
  • Practical Skills Session - Hands-on practice and simulation of various BLS scenarios with individual feedback.
  • Evaluation and Certification Test - Assessment of skills and knowledge through practical and written tests.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive an American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification valid for two years. This certification includes a digital certificate, verifiable online through a unique certificate ID.

Course Duration

The course typically runs for approximately 4 to 5 hours, including both theory and practical sessions.
